This
is my favorite hangout! I am affectionately known as one of the "Tassey
Twins" because I spend a lot of quality time here with my best friend!
My mother and father
met in Germany during World War II. If you are trying to figure out my
age, that won't help though, because I was born very late in my parents'
life as a (wonderful) surprise in Columbus, Ohio on June 19th and I'm not
going to tell you what year!
Growing up, I was an "Army brat" and I
spent many of my formative years living overseas in places like Germany and
France. Eventually my father received orders back here in the United States
and we were stationed at a number of U.S. Military bases across the country
as well. When my dad retired, we were stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
We proceeded to move to Colorado, my father's home, and then Nebraska -
where my dad pursued a Masters degree in Education.
We ended
up in Miami, Florida where I finished High School. I went to college
at the University of South Carolina (go Gamecocks) where I majored in
journalism. I failed my radio broadcasting course but I didn't let
that stop me. Trust me, there are a LOT of unqualified people in radio
today, and I work with some of them!
My first
job was at WNOK-FM in Columbia, South Carolina where I worked the overnight
shift and had no life. I then burst on the scene in Easley, South
Carolina where I worked for WELP-FM as a Country D.J. and Newscaster.
A short time later I was courted away from that glamorous position by WESC-FM where I worked
weekends.
However, I wasn't
ready to accept my radio calling yet. Seeing stars in my eyes and
missing home and my parents, I left my lucrative weekend gig - with a husband in tow
- and
headed South for "fame and fortune" working at WSVN-TV in Miami, Florida.
My daughter, Lauren Ashley, was born while I was in Miami and a few short
years later we moved back to the Upstate. This time we lived in Williamston - which I
often refer to lovingly as my "adopted hometown." Not long after moving
back to the Upstate, I was hired by WFBC-FM where I have worked ever
since.
I also worked for
WYFF-TV on the early morning news and did live shots on the midday news, but
radio was where my heart remained so here I am today where I am a morning
show host on B93.7 each weekday from 5:30 am - 9:30 am.
Some other things
you should know about me... I'm AVAILABLE! I just haven't found a
man who is confident enough to handle a strong woman like me, but when I do
then you will see what kind of woman I can be to my man!
I also have two dogs,
Monet is a Maltese and Cassie is a Lhasa Apso! We have a great time
together and I love animals and am proud that my morning show is involved
with the Humane Society telethon fundraiser every year!

which!) |
